Kura Teina

Year 1&2

Jade Deane - Team Leader

My heart has, and always will belong to Kawerau.  Children are such special taonga that deserve the very best. I endeavour to keep seeking the best for the children within my care, enabling them to see education as a stepping stone to endless possibilities.

Poipoia te kākano kia puāwai - nurture the seed and it will bloom.

Valerie Wineti - Kaiako

What motivates me to teach; is creating an atmosphere for Tamariki that captivates their interests, gives them the confidence to embrace learning, and inspires them to take advantage of all that school has to offer. I'm honoured to have the responsibility to ensure that all students have access to a quality education and a sense of belonging.

Kei te mohio koe ko wai koe, I anga mai koe i hea, kei te mohio koe, kei te anga atu ki hea - We know who we are, where we come from, and where we are going.

Hana Chase - Kaiako

Our tamariki are wonderful taonga that I look forward to helping along their road of learning and discovery.

Ma te kimi, ka kite, ma te kite ka mohio, Ma te mohio ka marama.  Seek and discover. Discover and know. Know and become enlightened.

Jordan Conn - Kaiako

As a New Entrance teacher, I am passionate about creating a positive and nurturing environment that fosters curiosity, growth and a lifelong love of learning. I am looking forward to creating strong partnerships with whānau to ensure their child’s happiness at school. I feel extremely honoured to be entrusted with their first kura experience.

He waka eke noa - We are in this together.

Jannette Harrison - Kaiako

In my role as a teacher, I am dedicated to ensuring that every student feels valued, supported and inspired. I encourage creativity, critical thinking and a sense of curiosity in the classroom. I understand the importance of building strong relationships not only with the children but with whanau and the wider community. This I believe ensures holistic development of our students. By working collaboratively, we can create a positive and enriching learning experience for our students.
