Senior Leadership Team

Tumuaki - Raylene Gage-Te Hau

Our tamariki at Kawerau South School deserve to have a high quality education, a place where they feel safe, a sense of pride, and one that is enjoyable. Therefore creating physical spaces, and supporting and enabling our kaiako and kaiawhina to deliver this continues to be a priority for me.  I am passionate about establishing and maintaining  an inclusive schoolwide culture that values whanaungatanga, manaakitanga, and one that promotes the importance of tuakiritanga and a sense of belonging.

Tumuaki Tuarua - Sue Hogg

My passion lies in ensuring that all tamariki have the opportunities to be the best they can be. An environment where all children are nurtured and their unique personalities are valued and leads to a positive learning environment.

The establishment of Takiwātanga has been a highlight for me. We must ensure that our tamariki in Kawerau have equal opportunities to those in the more prominent centres. I work closely with specialist services to ensure we have programmes that can cater for the many diverse learning needs across the educational spectrum.

Tumuaki Tuarua - Kama Kingston

I have the privilege of teaching in our Rūma Raweke - Makerspace. This year I am also very excited to be working alongside and supporting our amazing Opunoke and Kura Tuakana!

I love learning and creating with digital tools and am passionate about ensuring our ākonga have the best opportunities to create and share their stories in different ways.
